Spain, offer more Halal options for Muslim tourists

Annual about 800 thousands Muslim visit Spain and this country are among the most popular destination for Muslims around the world. But many of Muslim who visit this country believe the halal facilities in this country does not meet the needs of Muslim people.

But now The Spanish tourism companies interested in Islamic tourism booming segment, can offer their customers a certification issued by the Tourism Halal Institute , an entity created in 1986 by the Islamic Association Board.

The institute is dedicated to regulate, control and certify food products and services developed under Islamic law " and therefore unfit for consumption among the Muslim population " , say the makers of this entity.

"The first thing a Muslim tourist poses when traveling to any European country is will I be able to eat halal or not? That is already a big enough brakes to at any given time a tourist decides not to go to a destination and choose another , simply because it will have more guarantees to have a supply according to your lifestyle , "says the director of Halal Institute.

For example, Romero recalls that the city of Granada received a thousand Muslim visitors daily between May 1 and October 31 last year. " And yet , there is no hotel or restaurant with halal seal of approval " in that city.

The awareness of Muslims of their rights, and also the competition for attract more tourists leads the companies in Spain to offer more halal option for their consumers.
