Halal Leather

Leather in products like furniture coats, bags, belts and also another parts of animals  body like bones, gut which people use it, is absolutely unclear (najes) if be from non-clean (najes-ol-ayn) animal. If leather would be the products of a non-Muslim country, it is unclear also nevertheless the products would be from the Halal animals like cow, ship, camel and …. The reason is because that the animal has not been slaughtered in accordance to “shariat” law.

If leather will be the products of Islamic countries and also is not of the “najes” animals and then will be export to another country, the products will be Halal and Muslims can use it, however it has a foreign text on it and made in non-Muslim countries.

For example, if furniture has been made by a non-Muslim country and we don’t know that if the leather is the product of a muslim or a non-muslim country, then we can consider that furniture as clean (tayeb). But if the furniture is made in a Muslim country and we don’t know which country have made that kind of leather (Muslim or non-Muslim) then muslims can use of it.

Anyway even if furniture be of haram leather, using of it has no problem for muslims.

The shariat law for furniture is like other rule about “nejasat”. So if moisture of leather be like that it can be transmitted to something, then both of them would be najes. But if the moisture is like that it can not be transmitted to something, then it would be clean.
