Europe Hosts First Halal Tourism Confab
In a bid to get a larger share of the thriving industry, Europe will host the first-ever halal tourism conference next September to showcase the latest trends and marketing strategies for tapping into the halal niche market.
"This is a groundbreaking event for halal tourism which is directly reacting to current market trends and addressing the needs of the industry,"Tasneem Mahmood, co-founder of the Halal Tourism Conference, said in a statement cited by Zawya on Monday, June 23.
"It is the first time such a global event is being staged looking at halal tourism in detail."
Held on 22-23 September in Spain's Andalucía, the Halal Tourism Conference aims to provide halal investors with market intelligence, industry forecasts and trends to understand how to market the lucrative Muslim industry.
With five key themes, the conference will focus on understanding halal tourism,offering statistics, economics and the potentials of halal tourism, Muslim tourists and consumer needs.
It will also tackle the mechanism of attracting halal tourism, developing strategies and the future for halal tourism in the mainstream market.
The booming halal industry is expected to grow from about $1 trillion in 2012 into a $1.6 trillion industry by 2018, according to DinarStandard, a research firm specializing in Muslim markets.
